Around June 10th 2023, Brave pushed a browser update. This update has caused many users to receive errors related to “DNS_PROBE”. From our understanding, the update caused the browser to reset your DNS settings for Brave. With that, it caused your browser to “forget” the GoLinks extension. We have found success with removing and reinstalling the extension. If you are actively using the Brave browser, it is recommended you attempt to use a go link to test if your extension is still working properly.
If you receive this error, follow the next couple steps to help resolve the issue.
Step 1: Click on the puzzle piece icon in your browser’s taskbar. This will pop open a window with your extensions. If you do not see the GoLinks extension within the list here, click the button to manage your extensions.
Step 2: Within the manage settings window, you will see all of your extensions. Find the one for GoLinks, and click the “remove” button. This will prompt a pop-up window to delete the extension. Once removed, you will be provided a feedback screen. On this feedback screen in the upper right corner is a “reinstall” button.
Step 3: Reinstall the GoLinks extension. You can do this by either clicking the button on the feedback screen, or by clicking the large banner on your GoLinks homepage. Be sure to pin your extension for easy access.
Step 4: Now that the extension has been reinstalled, be sure to test your existing go links to ensure that this worked for you. If this does not resolve your issues or if the issue persists, please contact our support team so we can work to resolve the problem.
