Create private go links, just for you

Introducing a brand new way to access your personal work resources: private go links. Private go links are created just like standard go links, but use the format go/my/keyword.

But unlike standard go links, private go links can only be accessed by you. That’s right! Even if a coworker types your exact private go link into their browser bar, they won’t redirect to your link.

No matter your role, private go links streamline how you access your daily work resources. For example, create a private go link that opens your weekly project planning board at go/my/goals. Or use go/my/forecast to track your open sales opportunities.

Private go links are never surfaced in workspace search

Now you may be asking yourself, how are private go links different from unlisted go links? In case you’re not familiar, unlisted go links don’t appear in your company library or in workspace search results. This is also true of private go links — they’re only visible to you in your dashboard and can never be found by teammates.

But there’s one key difference. While unlisted go links aren’t discoverable by teammates, they can be accessed by those who know the link. For example, if you want to create an unlisted onboarding document for a new hire — like go/onboard-sam — you can share the go link name with that employee and they will be able to access it.

With private go links, the only person who the go link will redirect for is the user who created it. This means that even if someone were to guess your private go link name, they would never be able to access the underlying resource.

Workspace and private go links can use the same keyword

Another main benefit of private go links is that all keywords are available to you. Say, for example, your workspace has a go link created for goal tracking at go/goals. If you want to create your own go link to track personal goals, that keyword would no longer be available in your workspace.

That all changes with private go links. Because they leverage the format go/my/keyword, you can create go/my/goals to access your personal project plan. Your teammates can also create their own private go links with the keyword go/my/goals and all will only be accessible to the creator.
